Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Student Union Executives led by Abiodun Oluwaseun popularly know as President Laurel and the Senate President in person of Rt.Hon.Usman Wasiu Babatunde popularly known as Rt.Hon.Otunba had a Congress inside the main Campus in Ogbomoso yesterday,on the way forward as resumption hit the brick following the increament by the School Management.
The Student proposed that, instead of #200,000 and #250,000 earlier brought out by the School Management from the initial tuition fee of #65,000 and #72,000 for indigene and Non Indigene respectively, which was later reduced to #140,000 and #170,000 for indigene and Non Indigene respectively following the strong protest of the increament by the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Students' Union.
To pave a way out so as to be in a win-win game, the Students' Union agreed that,the freshers should pay #140,000 and #170,000 for the indigene and Non Indigene respectively why the #120,000 and #150,000 should remain the tuition fee for the 200L Students of the University.300L to 500L Students should be paying #90,000 for indigene and #100,000 for the Non Indigene.
The New proposal which was agreed upon by the Students'Union and the Stakeholders of the institution was rejected by the Chairman of the Governing council of LAUTECH, Prof. Dapo Afolabi, who insisted on #140,000 and #170,000 respectively across all levels for indigene and non- indigene students.
Following this new development from the LAUTECH Governing Council boss,Adekka TV correspondence in Ogbomoso gathered the information that,the Student Union have agreed to lock down the School gate early this morning,as Prof.Afolabi believe that Education is for the riches.
As it stands now,no resumption insight for the helpless Ladokites except if a new resolution will be agreed on earliest.
